Sauvie Island Preschool is a Montessori program opening in September 2026 at the historic Sauvie Island Grange. As the island’s only preschool, our program offers children the opportunity to learn in a setting surrounded by farms, fields, and forests.

We serve children ages 3-5 in a small, nurturing classroom of just ten to twelve students. Our approach blends the independence and hands‑on learning of Montessori education with outdoor experiences unique to Sauvie Island.

Located next to Sauvie Island School (not affiliated), the Grange is a convenient hub for parents with school-aged kids.

Hi. My name is Jeremy Bayout. I’ve been a working Montessorian for over a decade. I received my Children House diploma from the A.M.I and my trainer was Monte Kennison of California, whose trainer was Miss Lena Wikramarante of Sri Lanka, whose trainer was Dr. Maria Montessori of Italy.
